Koala Weekly News

What’s New

What a special week we had! In addition to spending the week in thankful service and making cards for our men and women in the military, singing for our OK club and making sandwiches for the homeless, we also learned about stars and telescopes, made more sculptures and “baked” in our bakery in the dramatic play area and talked about all the things we are thankful for.

Stone Soup/Parent Volunteers

Our Koala friends joined the rest of the school in chapel today to watch the teachers perform the story of “stone soup”. We explored the idea of everyone contributing one item to make a whole feast, and then we got to join the rest of the school in the fellowship hall to enjoy the stone soup we all contributed to make.  It was a magical day! Thank you to Andrea Bowrin (Reese’s mom) and Jennifer Wendt (Nathan’s mom) who helped make this day so much fun!

DKZ News

What is gravity you ask?  This week our DKZ friends got to learn first hand how gravity works.  They watched two pumpkins (a small one and a large one) drop from the second floor of our preschool building.  Which one landed first??? The big one landed splat!  The smaller one landed and rolled away.  Afterwards we looked at what was inside the pumpkins.  We enjoyed gravity drip painting, splat art and pendulum painting.  We also read the story Henny Penny the Sky is Falling! The sky is falling!

Due to our Christmas program. There will be no DKZ on Thursday, December 15. Thank you for your cooperation.

Below is a link to learn the shapes together. Shapes are everywhere! See how many you and you child can find!
